I know it seems ages since I sent out my last newsletter and I do apologise for this. Part of the reason is that sadly, my younger sister died totally unexpectedly a few weeks ago and it has left me feeling not just bereft but strangely without purpose, energy or enthusiasm. Life goes on of course, it certainly has over August but I find there has been an underlying melancholy. Perhaps this is normal in these circumstances but I do believe that these are signs, from ourselves, that we need to accept the old fashioned idea of giving ourselves the time to grieve and remember in order to heal that huge hole.

Reeling with the shock of the news, a lovely friend sent me the card with the following – I am sure many of you will be familiar with it

What is Dying?

Blog - sept 001

A ship sails and I stand watching till she fades on the horizon and someone at my side says, ‘she is gone.’ Gone where?

Gone from my sight, that is all; she is just as large as when I saw her.

The diminished size and total loss of sight is in me, not in her and just at the moment when someone at my side says ‘She is gone’, there are others who are watching her coming and other voices take up a glad shout, ‘There she comes!’ and that is dying                                 Bishop Brent

I found these words very comforting

A few weeks on now, I came across a leaflet lying hidden away in one of my files. It is entitled ‘Alignment’ – Body Energy Alignment and it was compiled by ‘The Hope Centre’ www.lightofhope.co.uk – it describes

‘the ‘body’s energy’ is in constant flow and movement – it is part of your body. Energy is received by the body through the crown, flowing down the spine, through chakras and meridians into the bands of energy that surround the physical being (auras).

The energy flow responds and reacts to changes within the physical body, the emotions, the thoughts and the spirit. It also interacts with the energy fields of others.

If interactions and flow of this energy is balanced and harmonious, we experience feelings of well being and positivity, e.g. peace and strength. Disrupted flow and stagnant energy gives feelings of resentment, pain, disorientation, etc.

Aligning the bands of energy and re-establishing positive flow within the body’s energy has an uplifting and balancing effect that is experienced immediately. Sealing the aligned energy field protects from negative interactions from others’ energy.

If aligned and sealed, then the personality will never be overcome by emotion or swayed negativity, but will always see things as gifts and opportunities for learning.’

Realising that this was something that my body needed to do, I began the little exercise and have now started once again to do some ‘Self Alignment’ on a regular basis. Some of you may find it useful, especially when ‘rocked emotionally’.  Remember, you can never be too aligned and you cannot align yourself too often. As you practice, your effectiveness increases. It is simple – so simple that people do not believe it can work. Try, experience and then decide if this free technique improves your mood, balance and ability to operate in an increasingly busy and challenging life.

  1. Stop and be still
  2. Call to the Light for help (We refer to Universal or Cosmic Energy as ‘the Light’)
  3. Breathe away the negativity to the earth for transmutation (eg the colour blue washing from the crown to the feet and out to the earth)
  4. Breathe in the Light of positivity, balance and strength (eg the colour emerald washing from crown to feet and grounding to the earth and through arms to hands)
  5. Seal yourself in protective blue light at arm’s length
  6. Be of joy and positivity
  7. Thank the Light.                I do hope that some of you will find this useful – do please let me know how you get on. I also have a similar little exercise for aligning the space around us – please ask and I can email it on to you.
